Winner of the 2019 Academy Award and BAFTA for Best Documentary Feature.  Free Solo is a stunning, intimate and unflinching portrait of the soloist climber Alex Honnold, as he prepares to achieve his lifelong dream: climbing the face of the 3,200-foot El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.  Celebrated as one of the greatest athletic feats of any kind, Alex Honnold’s climb set the ultimate standard: perfection or death.  Even more amazing that the climb was done without a rope!

Free Solo has been critically acclaimed being described as an “audacious documentary not only for its physical feats and filmmaking, but for its overall message to seize life.”

Free Solo is screening at Long Ashton Community Hall on Saturday, October 19th.  Doors open at 19:15 pm with the film starting at 20:00 pm with a short film beforehand.

Admission: Adults £5.00 and Children £2.50 (15 or under).  Drinks on sale on the evening including wines, beers, ciders, soft drinks, teas, coffees and sweet and salted popcorn.

The films certification is a 12A rating.  Therefore, anyone under the age of 12 will need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.
